Café Izmir opened in 1996 and quickly became known as a place for friends and family to meet and
enjoy "home-cooked" Mediterranean cuisine prepared daily by Mama Nazary. Her old world recipes
capture an essence of Greek, Turkish, Lebanese, Russian and Persian cuisine. Each meal begins with
appetizers of velvety hummus, aromatic saffron rice, and lemony tabouli accompanied with warm pita
bread. Soon after, five or six plates arrive with assorted grilled vegetables, coarsely ground
sirloin steak dusted with spices and herbs, and grilled chicken breast served with a cucumber-yogurt
dip. Or, if you prefer, we also offer vegetarian dishes. Café Izmir offers a delectable dessert
menu and a superb wine list.
Next door to Café Izmir is the Kismet Lounge. This upscale lounge has a Moroccan flair and is adorned
with plush booths, a large elegant service bar, and a ceiling full of fiber optic stars to enhance
relaxation. Enjoy the intoxicating sounds of various house DJs while smoking one of our lavish hookahs.
If you need some air, stroll onto the patio and catch a glimpse of the active nightlife Greenville Avenue
has to offer.
The Izmir Deli is a short stroll down the block from Café Izmir and Kismet. If you have a hummus or
baganoush craving in the middle of the day, don’t worry; the deli opens at 11:00 am, seven days a week and
offers delivery. Several items Izmir Deli offers mirrors the food served in the café. In addition, the
deli serves up delicious hot and cold sandwiches, salads, Mediterranean pizza, veggie juices and homemade
desserts. Both Izmir Deli and Café Izmir offer catering for pick-up, delivery and off-site events.
